What is Company Domiciliation in Switzerland?
In Switzerland, “domiciliation” is a regulated legal service defined under Art. 119 of the Federal Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA). It specifically refers to providing a registered address to a legal entity for use in the commercial register or other official purposes.
Unlike in other countries where “registered address” is an informal concept, Swiss domiciliation is subject to strict regulation: the domiciliary agent must verify the identity of the beneficial owners (KYC), maintain records, and comply with reporting obligations.
Virtual Office Zug operates as a fully AMLA-compliant domiciliary agent. Our address is accepted by the Zug Cantonal Commercial Register (KGZG) for GmbH and AG registrations.
“Any person who, by way of business, provides a domicile address or other premises to persons, companies, or institutions, or holds office as a director of a company...”

What domiciliation looks like day to day
Behind the legal definition, domiciliation is simple. Here is what actually happens when you domicile with VOZ.
Monday morning. A letter from the Steuerverwaltung.
A registered letter arrives at Baarerstrasse 135 from the Zug cantonal tax authority. Our team scans it within hours and sends you a PDF by email with a priority flag. You read it from Singapore before the Swiss business day ends.
UBS requests your domiciliation certificate.
You are applying for a corporate account at UBS Zug. The compliance officer requests a domiciliation certificate. You download it from your VOZ portal — it is already signed by our fiduciary. UBS accepts it without additional documentation.
Annual renewal. Zero effort on your side.
Each January, we proactively renew your beneficial owner declaration as required by AMLA Art. 119. You receive an email, confirm your details online, and we handle the rest. No trips to Switzerland. No notary. No surprises.
Founders who chose VOZ for their Swiss domiciliation
“I domiciled three entities with VOZ — a holding AG, an operating GmbH, and a foundation. The AMLA compliance process was thorough but fast. All three addresses were active within 48 hours. Having one provider for all three simplifies everything.”
“I chose Zug specifically after comparing the tax rates. The CHF 9,200 annual saving versus a Zurich address covered my domiciliation cost for 12 years. The choice was obvious.”
“The AMLA Art. 119 compliance was the deciding factor. My bank specifically asked whether our domiciliary agent was AMLA-compliant. VOZ provided the documentation that confirmed it — UBS was satisfied immediately.”
